I work for the Veterans Health Administration, National Center for Organization Development. Our office is based in Cincinnati, Ohio. We provide services to VHA facilities and offices nationwide

Description of the services as a supervisor, mentor, and/or training site

The VHA National Center for Organization Development offers a two year postdoctoral training/practice opportunity for clinical, industrial/organizational, and counseling psychologists. Trainees participate as consultants, project managers, facilitators, and coaches as part of client work across the VHA. The postdoc requires an average of two weeks of travel per month. All staff and trainees participate in weekly didactic sessions, which include review of assigned readings, skill development, and case analysis. There are four licensed psychologists who serve in supervisory roles. The model of learning includes observation, practice, and direct feedback as a routine.

Formal degrees attained

Doctorate in Psychology (Ph.D. in clinical psychology); MBA

Description of how consulting related experience was gained

My doctoral training included a year-long consulting placement. I was director of a 200-bed mental health rehabilitation unit, gaining executive/management experience. I earned an MBA in 1999, then trained for several years in organization development with VHA’s National Center for Organization Development which I joined full time in 2008. I am owner of a small consulting business, Ramsel Organization Development Services.
