Introduction to the Strong Interest Inventory and Skills Confidence Inventory (SIISCI)

The inventories measure a client's perceived level of interest in performing skills related to the six General Occupational Themes: Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, and Conventional. The client's confidence level is also compared with his or her level of interest in the Themes. This measure opens discussion of your client's confidence level in his or her skills, a factor that could be preventing the client from considering high-interest careers.

The report allows the comparison of interests and skills while organizing results into four categories for prioritizing exploration: High Priority; Possible Option If Interests Develop; Good Option If Confidence Increases; Low Priority.

Use this inventory with college students and adults entering the workforce or exploring new careers.
